9-11 Memorial East Rutherford, NJ
This park was designed to honor three individuals who resided in or had connections with the town of East Rutherford. The Wall is oriented in the direction of where the Towers once stood. Steel shadows of the New York City skyline represent the skyline as it stood in 2001. The voids in the Wall create two shadowy gateways toward Manhattan. Included in the design was a fountain to represent history of East Rutherford, formerly Boiling Springs. Materials used in this project -- brick, steel, and lights – identify with the remainder of homes and businesses on Park Avenue.
